ECKAN (The East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation), a community action agency, has been in existence since 1966 and now serves low-income persons in Allen, Anderson, Bourbon, Chase, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Greenwood, Johnson, Lyon, Miami, Morris, Osage, Woodson and Wyandotte counties. ECKAN provides programs and referral services in each county in response to local needs and available resources.
